Jessica Knight was recognized for her leadership of Sixth grade orchestra at Hobble Creek Elementary and Mapleton Elementary. Every morning before school she keeps the beat and the music moving. The orchestras will perform a combined concert in December10 and 11. Jessica takes the student from this how you hold the instruments to blue grass and beyond. Her infectious laugh and clear instruction make learning to play fun.

Ballet West Academy at Thanksgiving point performed Pinochio at the Covey Center for the Arts in Provo.  A few of the dancers are Hobble Creek students.  The students saw the first part of the ballet and where encouraged to bring their family to a performance for the rest of the story.

AT THE COVEY CENTER FOR THE ARTS

An Inspired Version of a Family Favorite: A Ballet Unlike Any Other.

Inspired by Carlo Collodi’s beloved book, choreographed and directed by Lindsay Folkman (Utah’s Best of State Choreographer 2014), and performed by the students and faculty of the new Barbara Barrington Jones Family Foundation Ballet West Academy at Thanksgiving Point, “PINOCCHIO: Awake My Soul” presents this timeless tale as you have never seen before. Come follow the carpenter, Geppetto, and his wooden puppet, Pinocchio, through the adventurous ups and downs of life, as they find, lose, and rediscover their own perceptions of LOVE and HOPE. Full of symbolism in both movement and lyric, “Pinocchio: Awake My Soul” is truly an inspired version of a family favorite.
