From the PTA spotlight we know that Mrs. Lingham Likes pink, yellow, chicken fingers, Taylor Swift, summer on the beach, family vacations, and math. She broke her leg when she was 6 months old. She dreams of touring London England with her family. Her students say she is amazing, creative, really good at math and beautiful. Mrs. Lingham is taking math endorsement classes, currently focusing on algebra. Although it is pushing her ability to learn, she is learning how to use it in her classroom to better assist her students in their mathematical understanding. She is going to put the endorsement classes credits towards a Master's Degree in Education with Southern Utah University! She will finish the two year program this June! One year she had a student that was really tough to keep engaged! He was very bright but wasn't interested in a lot of the things that the class was learning. Once she got him using the mathematics tools to explore some of the concepts the class was learning it was like a light bulb went on! He was able to explain what he was doing with subtraction across zeros and he was able to justify why he was doing it! It made more sense to him and it got him so engaged that math became one of his favorite things to do in the classroom! "What a personal triumph that I had teaching! " said Mrs. Lingham. She also helps the school use technology to the fullest. She is truly a Treasure!
