“Tina is always cheerful and positive. She works with struggling students all day, every day. She implements and oversees behavior plans for students with severe behavior issues but is always kind and helpful and never says an unkind word. She sees the good in everyone and spreads it around, helping Hobble Creek Elementary be a school filled with positive energy.

“Miss Wilkinson is trained in the Wilson Reading System that took four years to complete. Many students and their families have been positively influenced by Miss. Wilkinson's teaching skills and kindness. That success impacts the community and reflects back positively on Nebo School District.”

Hobble Creek Student Council has been busy counting pennies!   They sponsored a fund raising competition to raise funds for Primary Children's Medical Center.  The student body supported the effort giving the student council the opportunty to count many pennies.  

Utah Division of Arts and Museum Art Project Grant - Opera

Thanks to funding from the Utah Division of Arts and Museums and the National Endowment for the Arts, Serena Kanig Benish, UVU voice professor and opera diva will be working with the third and fifth grades on an opera.  Serena brought some of her UVU students to Hobble Creek to introduce them to opera.  The assembly showed the students a wide range of voices from baritone to soprano as well as finding the story from the music even when it was in Italian or French.

      Serena will be working at Hobble Creek in March.  The students will perform an opera called " A Whole Lot of Something Going On"  on March 27 at 2:15.

James Chamberlain and Olivia Smith will be taking their science fair projects on the the next level of competition on March 25 at the Central Utah Science and Engineering Fair at BYU. Approximately 875 students  will be competing March 23-26, 2015 for more than $60,000 in cash and prizes! The top prize winners at CUSEF advance on to compete in the Broadcom MASTERS Competition, the Discovery Education 3M Young Scientist Challenge, the International Sustainable (Energy, Engineering, Environment) Project Olympiad and the Intel International Science & Engineering Fair.
