Mrs. Maxine Bartholomew is retiring at the end of the school year next month. She is one of the veterans at Hobble Creek and she will be missed! This is what she said about her long career as a teacher. "I have worked in Nebo School District for 32 years. I started my teaching career at Park Elementary in Spanish Fork. I taught fourth grade there for 18 years. I then transferred to Hobble Creek Elementary in 2003, the year it opened, and I have been teaching fourth grade here since. I did my student teaching in kindergarten and first grade, but I was then hired to teach fourth grade.
It's that time again to show you the Hobble Creek students of the week for April 21, 2017. They are Hailey Fry, Isabella Rex, Hudson McCulloch, Lucy Carter, Natalie Degn, Thatcher Lee, Tom Lloyd, Lea Cardon, Jonas McCown, Roman Nicol, Ellie Metler, Kayla White, Ethan McCulloch, Porter Redd, Sydnie Hawkes, Ethan Christiansen, Porter Nadauld, Denton Marks, and Paige Casper.
If you see these great students make sure you recognize them for being outstanding this week!
K12 Student Innovator of the Year is an innovation competition for students in grades 4 - 12. All you have to do to compete is invent a novel (but useful) product, system, or service, and come ready to pitch it to a panel of judges (think of this like a Shark Tank experience). There are 3 categories: elementary (grades 4 - 6), junior high (grades 7 - 9), and high school (grades 10 - 12). Over $6000 in cash prizes was awarded. Two of our 4th grade students, Emma Snapp and Ashley Hardy participated. They created the Hypno Changer. We are so proud of their effort and hard work.
Here are the student "Hawks" who made student of the week for April 14, 2017. Wesley Broughton, Mya Gilbert, Beckett Mickelson, Nathan Marshall, Ella Scott, Brinley Cherrington, Alijah Marks, Logan Radford, Audrey Richards, Peter Hagen, Barbara Torro, Caleb Tuckett, Rebekah Jensen, Lily Lee, Carter Griffin, Weston LeBaron, and Brody Colton.
We appreciate your hard work in school and kindness to others. Great job Hawks!

Wow, what a lot of time and effort went into making so many great cars for our Kindergarten classes "Kindy Indy" this year. We loved seeing all the students in their homemade cars accelerating around Hobble Creek before spring break in March.
Great work students and parents!
We have our Hobble Creek students of the weeK. They have worked hard and are ready for Spring Break. We think you're great students.
