The Crystal Apple Award is an "Excellence in Education" Award.

The purpose of this award is to recognize outstanding individuals in the education field who are dedicated to the success of our students. Exceptional principals, assistant principals, teachers, classroom assistants, office and school staff in our communities deserve recognition and praise for their hard work in schools each and every day. The Crystal Apple Awards are a way to show appreciation to these individuals.

Our own 6th grade teacher, Mrs. Alison Snow, received the award on Monday. She is a very deserving recipiant of the award this year. Mrs. Snow works hard and puts in many extra hours preparing her lesson plans and teaching her students. She is a positive role model here at Hobble Creek for all the students and we all look up to her, literally!

Thanks for all you do Mrs. Snow to make your classroom and our school one of the best in the state! We appreciate you and your efforts on behalf of students. By the way, teacher appreciation week is next week here at Hobble Creek and at Mapleton Jr. High School. The teachers and staff would love to hear any words of appreciation you might offer.

We need your help parents. There are a lot of Hobble Creek parents who do not know about our school website and facebook page. We need to get the word out that our school can earn $500 if our membership/likes to our social media increase. Please SHARE and encourage all your friends and neighbors to join. We would love to use that money to buy a better camera to take our students pictures with.

Why should you like us if your kids or relatives attend Hobble Creek?

-we post students of the week every Friday

-we post upcoming events going on at Hobble Creek

-we post pictures of classes and students during school events

-we highlight teachers and staff so you can get to know them better (did you know 5 are retiring this year?)

We can increase our membership with your help, please share today!

Most of you have seen Mrs. Hansen around our school, in classrooms, on the playground and in the office for the last 4 years. She does a lot for our teachers and we will miss her when she retires at the end of the school year.

She graduated from BYU in elementary ed. and began teaching in Spanish Fork in second grade at Park Elementary then at Larsen Elementary where she spent eighteen years teaching second and third grade. She then moved to East Meadows Elementary to be a facilitator, worked for BYU as a CFA, and then here at Hobble Creek where she has spent the last four years of her career as our facilitator. She has worked for Nebo School District for 33 years! She says, "I'm excited to be a grandma and have more free time to play and spend time with family and friends when I retire."

Mrs. Hansen is from Spanish Fork and still lives there. She has three children, one boy and twin girls. Zac lives in Heber, Katelyn is engaged and plans to get married in September and Karlee and her husband Tanner live in Payson with her darling granddaughter Mallie. Both of her daughters are elementary school teachers. Mrs. Hansen loves riding her bike, going to outdoor concerts and going to Lake Powell with her family.

We will miss you Mrs. Hansen, thank you for making Hobble Creek and many other schools in Nebo School District Great!

The 3rd graders performed their program "We Love America" on Thursday night, March 9th. The last few weeks they've loved learning more about their country through music. One of their favorite songs was the Armed Forces Medley and What's More American. The students received a standing ovation at the end!
