Halloween Parade at Hobble Creek 2016

Submitted by liz.porter on

Halloween has arrived at Hobble Creek in a spectacular fashion. Ghost and goules were found around every corner. Everyone had a fantastic time in our annual parade. Alot of parents were found in the gym watching all the little pretties. Our own Clark Kent/Superman aka Mr. Johnson was found in the halls along with a large number of old ladies, Maleficent, scary witches, babies, Harry Potter students, the entire 7 dwarfs and snow white, mimes, soldiers, ninjas, scarecrows, super heros, pirates, Mary Poppins, baseball, basketball, and other sports players, and even Alice in wonderland made an appareance. It was a lot of fun! Way to go Hobble Creek students and faculty for making Halloween such a fun day.

The Hobble Creek 2nd grade classes were able to attend a presentation on Owls by Great Basin Wildlife Rescue. This was part of our study of nocturnal animals and habitats. We loved seeing the beautiful owls. We then dissected the owl pellets to examine mice and vole skeletons. Thank you for coming to Hobble Creek GBWR!

Mrs. Pugh's 2nd grade class looked through owl pellets to find rodent bones.  They matched the bones to a bone chart.  Several large skeletons were found, and lots of other bones.
