Third Grade Geometry Robots

Third grade has been doing Geometry in math. They have been learning about different angles and lines. They also learned all about about and what polygons are. They got to go outside and create polygon robots.

They were very creative using their shapes to create different polygon robots!

Flashlight Friday Reading

March is Literacy month. Students have been encouraged to do fun literacy activities at home and at school for the whole month. Today we had flashlight Friday. Students got to bring a flashlight from home. In every classroom they got to spend time reading in the dark using their flashlight.

Mrs. Adams Teacher of the Year

We would like to recognize Fourth Grade teacher Mrs. Adams as teacher of the year here at Hobble Creek. Mrs. Adams is one of a kind. She is kind, friendly, and always willing to jump in and help students whether they are hers or not. She changes the lives of students daily.  She is committed to helping  students learn and understand. She is funny and will be the first to crack a joke. You will always find Mrs. Adams with a smile. We are so lucky to have Mrs. Adams at Hobble Creek. 

Literacy Month Kick Off Assembly

We had a great assembly to king off our Literacy Month. Literacy isn't just reading and we had 3 guests come and speak about what literacy means to them.

Emily Inouye Huey: Writes historical fiction for children and teens.

Kelly Cook: teaches drama at Mapleton Jr High. She went to school in London England where she studied theater.

Paige Fish: Goes to Springville High School and attended Hobble Creek Elementary. Paige is a singer/song writer. She was most recently on American Idol Season 20
