Who doesn't love to learn with snacks? Third grade is learning how to do 3 digit addition with regrouping. They got to have a fun day in math where they used snacks as their base ten blocks. This helped students be able to see how they are regrouping into the different place values. The best part was students got to "eat their math" when they were done learning. 

Mrs. Hayes first grade class got to do yoga with Ms. Jones. Ms. Jones is part of the Nebo Gains Department where she is one of the Dance Specialists. She goes around to schools and gets to be a part of classrooms and teach teachers and students how to incorporate movement and dance into different subjects. 

Fourth graders watched a live event where Peter Reynolds and millions of other students around the world all celebrated DOT day.

Mr. Hall came out to recess with first grade. He played on the playground with them. The first graders loved it!!

Thanks to the Mapleton Fire Department for coming and welcoming students to school during our safety week. 

We are excited for our Green Ribbon Safety Week. As a school we will focus on getting to school safely. Students will pledge to follow safety rules like using crosswalks, and looking both ways when crossing the street.

Tuesday-Take home pledge & review it with a parent/guardian

Wednesday- Walk or ride to school day! Watch for our friendly local officers passing out treats at the crosswalks near the school. Sign the "Student Green Ribbon Pledge" during lunch.

Thursday-High 5 a fireman day!
