Hobble Creek Elementary's STUDENTS OF THE WEEK on September 7, 2012:  Elsa Christensen, Olivia Smith, Avery Sorenson, Easton Mousser, Mary Ribble, Jack Lambert, Nathan Christiansen, Paityn Bird, Ayden Christensen, Jared Jameson, Libby Anderson, Makayla Ruff, Ammon Morrill, David Wilson, Wendy Griffin, Missy Miles, Abby Garrett, Eldon Van Orman, Spencer Ercanbrack, Nick Lape, Brandon Gordan, and Emma Templeman.

Fourth Grade science students made rocks from marshmallow lava and candy minerals.They also designed rocks out of designer minerals and gave them designer names.

Maple Mountain High School Coach Burtenshaw brought some seniors from the Maple Mountain football team to read to Mrs. Wayment's first grade class  on Friday, August 31, 2012.

Hobble Creek Elementary's STUDENTS OF THE WEEK on August 31, 2012:  Heidi Weidman, Drew Littledike, Kaylee Peden, Ella Dawe, Max Smith, Brooklyn Jensen, McKenzie Mortensen, Nicole Cragun, Ashleigh Mousser, Braxton Carter, Avery Frischknecht, Carson Brunt, Rylan Taylor, Cooper Magleby, Katelyn Gehring, Jacob Richey, Samantha Snyder, Annika Christensen, Averee Leslie, and Chance McCausland.

We need one new parent representative to serve on our School Community Council.  This is a two year commitment with meetings held once a month to discuss school funding and policies.  If you are interested, will you please email Mr. Johnson by the end of this week.

Kindergarten students began school today at Hobble Creek.  They heard stories, learned about their teacher, their classroom, and the school.  They were even asked the question, "Do you like recess?"

Fourth grade students are using color and art to create community. 

Hobble Creek's principal, Mr. Johnson, is sharing a picture book by Michael Jordan to bring the school community together as a team of winners.  In the introduction of the book Michael Jordan writes,"regardless of what game you endeavor to play, when it is over,if you know that you have put your heart into it, given your very best, and had fun along the way, you are a winner.  I've learned it takes heart to come out a winner every time,whether you win or lose."
      Each classroom has a copy of the book.  Each grade level is meeting with Mr. Johnson to talk about the Teamwork Golden Rules:
1. Know the game.
2. Pay attention to the coach at all times.
3. Know your opponent.
4. Be a team player.
5. Practice a winning attitude.
6. Find out what you do best.
7. Find out what you need to work on.
8. Practice, practice, practice.
9. Learn from your mistakes.
10. Have fun!
