Building cubes in Math Olympiads with marshmallows and toothpicks.

Students in 4th and 5th grade get to participate in Math Olympiads with Mrs. Etherington. Students had fun figuring out how many individual cubes can be made with marshmallows and toothpicks versus how many can be made in a line.

Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday, January 16, 2023

Monday, January 16, 2023, marks the 37th anniversary of the federal holiday in honor of Rev. Martin Luther King’s birthday. Signed into law in 1983 and first observed in 1986, the holiday is a tribute to King for advancing civil rights and social justice through non-violent protest. His was only the second birthday designated as a federal holiday after the observance of George Washington’s birthday.

Nebo students have Friday, January 13 off for Teacher Development Day, and Nebo schools are closed Monday, January 16 in honor of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Enjoy your long weekend.
