Arbor Day

Hobble Creek Fourth Grade participated in the Utah Arbor Day Poster Contest by creating posters for the theme; "Trees are Terrific and Need Our Care. The school winner was Jane Winward. On Friday April 26, Arbor Day, officials from Mapleton City came to have the students plant a tree. They recognized Jane in front of the fourth grade students, talked about the importance of trees and had the students plant a tree in front of the school.

Nebo Elementary Students Win Awards at State Debate

Sixteen 5th and 6th grade students from Brockbank Elementary and Hobble Creek Elementary participated in the Utah State Elementary Debate on April 19, 2013. Hobble Creek students Leah Ribble and Bailey Monson took third place as an affirmative team. Bailey also earned a speaker award.

Hobble Creek Students Nebo Elementary Debate Winners

Hobble Creek 5th and 6th grade students participated in the Nebo School District Elementary Debate on March 20.  The debate was hosted by Hobble Creek and judged by students from springville High School, Maple Mountain High School and Salem Hills High School. 

Hobble Creek students who placed in the debate and will be going on to the state debate are: Canyon Rhatigan, Cameron Dorny 3rd place affirmative

Leah Ribble Bailey Monson 4th place affirmative

Mason Aviano, Porter Fairbourne 4th place Negative

Katie Rex Lilli Holmberg 5th place negative

Speaker ribbons were awarded to:  Lilli Holmberg, Smantha Smith, Cameron Dorny, Bailey Monson, Canyon Rhatigan

This year's resolution is: Resolved that the state of Utah substantially increase it's support of nuclear electrical generation within its borders.
