Take Home Library Renewal

Tanner Cannon's Eagle Scout project.  He reorganized our take-home library, repaired damaged books, and put pockets and name strips as well as shelved over $2000 worth of new books.  He also helped with creating teacher guides for our guided reading library as well.  He did an amazing job!!

Constitution Day

If I wrote the Constitution......

Hobble Creek Students learned some facts about the Constitution.  The student body listened to a picture book about the Constitution "We The Kids".

Students discussed the Constitution thinking about why it was written ; to work together, be fair, be peaceful,be protected, be happy, and have freedom forever we made this set of rules.

Mrs. Hayes, a Hobble Creek Treasure

Mrs. Hayes

Mrs. Hayes is a third grade teacher at Hobble Creek.  She has been a sixth grade teacher at the school.  She is also a student who is learning about English as a Second Language.  She is working on a master's degree in education too.

One of the most rewarding times in her classroom was when she had a student who had been home-schooled for several years. It was her first time in a school setting. After Mrs. Hayes realized what gaps she had in her learning she was been able to work with her to help her fill the gaps and feel successful in school .
