Congratulations Mrs. Nissen! (3rd Grade)

Lisa Nissen is an amazing teacher who not only cares about teaching students academics but teaching them how to be better people. She cares about each student individually and loves them for who they are! She is great at recognizing a student’s strengths and for finding ways to reach those who need extra help or support. She is a supportive colleague and is willing to go above and beyond to help anyone who needs it. Her amazing attitude is reflected in her beautiful smile and her students love her!”

“If You Can Be Anything, Be Kind”

This is the theme for our school and students this year. Our theme is based on the book “The Invisible Boy” by Trudy Ludwig.

“Meet Brian, the invisible boy. Nobody ever seems to notice him or think to include him in their group, game, or birthday party . . . until, that is, a new kid comes to class.”

“When Justin, the new boy, arrives, Brian is the first to make him feel welcome. And when Brian and Justin team up to work on a class project together, Brian finds a way to shine.”

One of the responsibilities of our student council includes morning announcements. The student council members meet with Mr. Johnson in the morning to help with announcements, lunch menus and various other items of business. It's a great way for the student council to connect with their fellow students. Great job student council!

Ms. Sayers 1st grade class has been learning about the growth and life cycle of Monarch butterflies.  The students have watched closely as the butterflies change from one cycle to the next and finally to the best part...a beautiful Monarch butterfly!  Each student was able to release one of the butterflies they have been watching in their classroom.  What a fun and exciting project for our 1st graders!

Miss Johnsons 4th grade class gets ready to work in the lunchroom.  Student volunteers help the lunch staff with various duties in the lunchroom. The lunch staff help them get ready to serve the student by helping with aprons and caps and giving out assignments.  Thanks to our student helpers!
