Submitted by carol.day on

Parents and students enjoyed looking at the colorful bugs created by the first grade under the supervision of Sheri Gibb, ceramic artist.  The art project was the last phase of a three year art project designed to help students learn more about the community.  It was made possible by a grant from the Utah Division of Art and Museums and the National Endowment for the Arts.

Submitted by carol.day on

Mapleton City and Hobble Creek 4th grade students celebrated Arbor Day by planting a tree.  The students entered the Arbor Day Poster Contest by illustrating the theme; Trees are Terrific from Mountain Peaks to Desert Valleys.  The school winner of the contest is Lauren Watson. Hal Black and Orpha Dee Johnson told stories to the students about the importance of trees.  Students helped plant the tree.
